The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities has made 100 elephants and 100 donkeys available for local artists to paint and display throughout the city.
The elephant will stand at Metro Center in Washington DC.
The big guy is made out of resin compound and measures 5' x 4.5' weighing in at 150 lbs. The work is being painted at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria VA, and the 700lb base will be completed at the installation site.
After their stay in the city, the 200 animals will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
