After graduating in 1977 from the University of North Carolina, Matthew began his art career at the Torpedo Factory in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. Thirty six years later, Matthew continues to create works that touch the soul and relax the mind. His use of bold lines and imaginative colors have contributed to an unmistakable style that are enjoyed both domestically and internationally. In his Torpedo Factory studio, Matthew continues to paint with passion and individuality in full view of the public and he shows no signs of slowing down. Matthew is internationally renowned for his  Tall Tulips® collection of paintings and prints.
